Andrew F. Hopper entered into eternal rest on March 16, 2012 after an extended illness. He was 80 years old. He was born in Hoboken , NJ the son of the late Andrew and Evelyn Hopper.
He earned his Masters in Education in Seton Hall University and earned his doctorate from Columbia University . He held the position of principal at the Keely school in Hoboken , NJ . During the summer he ran a charter boat, the Sea Lady, out of Belmar , NJ .
He lived in Packanack Lake , Wayne , NJ where he ran for councilman and also served as chairman on the Board of Adjustments. He was an active member of the Democratic Party. He moved to Warwick , NY in 1998.
He is survived by his wife Betty Farcher Hopper, and three children, Andrew Hopper Jr. of Wayne , NJ , Mary Mansfield and her husband Mark of Warwick, NY, and John Hopper and his wife Aimee of Vernon, NJ. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Andrew, Christopher, Dean, Grace, Daniel, and Vittoria .
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church , 95 Kings Hwy. Warwick NY on March 21, at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Humane Society at 48 Public Works Road , Warwick , NY is preferred.
