Mary M. Van Doran of Greenwood Lake, a former switch board operator for the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home in N.Y. City, and a longtime resident of the area, died on April 23, 2012 in St. Anthony's Hospital. She was 80.
The daughter of the late Walter and Ann Feeney Wassell, she was born on December 22, 1931 in Bronx, N.Y. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Gaelic Society. She was the widow of Robert Patrick Van Doran.
Survivors include her loving children Walter Van Doran of Greenwood Lake; Robert Van Doran and his wife Peggy of Hicksville, N.Y.; Michael Van Doran; James Van Doran and Annmarie Sabarese and her husband Daniel all of Greenwood Lake. Stephen VanDoran of Greenwood Lake; Edward Van Doran and his wife Felicia of Goshen; Mary Elizabeth Cabezal and her husband Edward of Greenwood Lake; Christopher Van Doran and his wife Dawn of Greenwood Lake and Ellen Rampe and her husband Christopher of Warwick. Her brother Patrick Wassell and his wife Felice of Croton on Hudson, N.Y. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend of over 60 years Alfina Merlino.
She was predeceased by her son Thomas Van Doran; her brother Albert Wassell; daughter-in-laws Victoria DeVoe Van Doran and Teresa McQuail Van Doran and her granddaughter Amanda.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday April 26, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Strong Basile Funeral Home 4 Oak St. Greenwood Lake, N.Y.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday April 27, 2012 at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake. Burial will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
